Appeal if contention: Clauparo Outfitter is member of the Quebec
Outfitter Federation (QOF).
If any contention, which has never occurred, the decision would
be made by the Federation for reimbursement or other.
Health and Security
An infirmary with 2 ambulances is located at the centre of the
outfitter (at Sablon Camp).
What to bring
Comfortable and warm clothes for the chilly evenings, boots, raincoat,
first aid kit, insect repellent, cooler, fishing rod, landing
net and basket, beach towel etc. Towels, pillowcases and sleeping
bags are necessary if not included in the package you bought.
And of course, all the food you need if you did not choose the
American plan.
Don’t forget to bring films, batteries etc. Write the serial
numbers of your binoculars, telescopes, weapons, cameras, etc.
for insurance and customs proposes.

- Hunting rifles and shotguns are accepted as checked baggage
only, nand must be unloaded.
- Firearms must be inhibited from being fired by using a secure,
locking ndevice on the weapon.
- Firearms must be packaged in a specially designed, opaque
case that ncan’t be easily
broken during the transport.
- Before Air Canada accepts the firearm, you must sign a declaration
nform attesting the weapon is
unloaded as well as a limited release nform.
· Ammunition
- Ammunition is only accepted in checked baggage and must
be packed nseparately from the
firearm.
- Ammunition allowance is limited to 5 kg (11 lb.) per passenger.
- Only shells or cartridges are acceptable types of ammunition.
- Gunpowder and gunpowder pellets are strictly prohibited.
- Ammunition must be packed securely in a strong container
of wood, nmetal or cardboard
marked "ammunition" , or in the original inner ncarton.
- To avoid shock movement, the carton must be placed inside
a suitcase and protected by clothing.

· FIREARM :
nAs a non-resident, two options
are offered to conform to requirements nrelated
to the licence and registration.
- First Option : Declared Firearms
You can declare the firearms you bring, you need to present
the Form (CAFC
909EF): "Non-Resident
Firearm Declaration", unsigned, triplicate, to a
customs officer at your first point of entry into Canada.
To accelerate the processus at the first point of entry, fill
out the declaration form in advance but WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE
IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMS OFFICER TO SIGN IT, because your signature
must only be attested in front of the officer. The cost to
obtain a testified declaration is CA$25.
· Second Option : Firearms borrowed
in Canada
You don’t need a licence if you are under the immediate
and direct supervision of an adult owner of the licence (our
guide who comes with you). If not, you’ll need the following
licence proposed by us:
Sponsor= the one who lends his arm.
A valid non-resident temporary borrowing licence for non-restricted
firearms (form
CAFC 715). Fill out the form (your part) and send it to
us.
Or
Provide us with the necessary information at least 60 days
prior to your trip: Name, address + Form indicating you have
no criminal record.
We can take care of all the procedures in Canada and Quebec.
Which include: Submit and get prior approval by the Province
of Quebec Firearms Controlor the form ‘’Request
for temporary borrowed firearms licence (for non-resident)’’(CAFC
715 EF).

With the temporary borrowing firearms licence, you are authorized
to only borrow firearms with no restrictions and only for
the following purposes:
· Go hunting under the supervision of an outfitter
who organizes hunting activities in Canada.

Catch Limits
It is allowed to kill, within the same year, one moose by two
hunters for all the zones where the moose hunting is allowed.
At the Outfitter Clauparo, the limit is one moose by group of
three, four or five hunters participating at the same excursion.
If a group has 6 hunters, the limit is then one moose by 3 hunters.

Catch Limits
In Quebec, a hunter can kill one black bear per year from May
15, 2006. At Clauparo’s, the black bear hunting is allowed
from June 8 to June 30, 2006.
CITES Exporting licence for a
black bear hunting trophy.
The black bear and wolf are cited in the Convention on International
Trade in endangered species of wild fauna and Flora (CITES),
these animals, their parts and derivatives or products obtained
from such species, exported out of Canada, must be accompanied
by a CITES exporting licence for the entry to be permitted in
the importing country.

However, the CITES licence is not required for residents of
Canada or USA who themselves export from Canada or import to
Canada, in their personal baggage, a black bear that is the
result of their own hunting activities, provided that this bear
or its parts is in a fresh, frozen or salted state. If the bear
or its part have been naturalized, tanned or otherwise preserved
or transported by a person other than the hunter who killed
it, a CITES licence is required.

Sport Hunting Periods for Small Game
· Snowshoe Hare:
From September 17, 2008 to Mars 31 2009. Obligation to wear
the safety vest before December 1st except if with neck snare.
· Wolf:
From October 18, 2008 to March 31 2009. Obligation to wear the
safety vest before December 1st.
· Grouse:
Ruffed Grouse, Spruce Grouse, Sharp-Tailed grouse: From September
20, 2008 to March 31 , 2009. Obligation to wear the safety vest
before December 1st.
· Northern Leopard Frog, Green Frog and Bullfrog:
Tools : Walk-in
trap, barrier, dart, dip net, trap, hook, with hands, from July
15 to November 15, 2008.
Catch Limits
Some small game species are exposed to catch and possession
limits. Therefore, for all the ruffed grouses, spruce grouses
and gray partridges, the catch limit is maximum 5 per day and
the possession limit is 15. For all the grouses species, the
catch limit is 10 per day and the possession limit is maximum
30. At Clauparo’s, the catch limit for snowshoe hare is
maximum 5 per day.

Trout Regulations
Non-resident
The non-resident must have a Quebec Sport Fishing Licence to
fish anywhere in Quebec.
Where can I get this licence?
The sport fishing licence is sold by authorized licence distributors.
These are usually sporting goods, hardware or convenience stores.
Clauparo Outfitter and the Martin-Valin ZEC sell the licence
at the gate at the beginning of the logging road.
Who can fish with my licence?
Your spouse and children under 18 years old, and also all the
people under 18 years old fishing under your supervision or
your spouse’s can fish under your licence.
How many fish can be caught and kept if many people fish with
the same and unique licence?
The maximum of fish caught and kept the same day must not exceed
20 trout per licence.

Daily Catch Limits
The daily catch limit includes the caught and kept fish. The
released fish don’t count in the catch limit. The owner
of the licence must include in its limit all the fish caught
and kept by all the people using his licence. This limit also
includes the fish caught and eaten the same day.
Possession Limits (per fishing
trip)
The authorized possession limit in a zone, for sport fishing,
is the daily catch limit forecast for this species in this zone:
20 trout. Under no circumstances, no one can exceed the catch
limit established in Quebec: 20 brook trout.
